We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a crucial role in shaping the technology roadmap for the company. This individual will lead and oversee the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for advanced space technologies, and will provide technical leadership, guide engineering teams, and contribute to the company's growth and success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the modeling, analysis, design, and prototyping of mechanical systems for space technologies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into the overall platform, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Drive the development of concept designs and lead the team in translating concepts into tangible hardware.
- Provide technical expertise in structural analysis, thermal management, and aerodynamics, ensuring mechanical systems meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements.
- Set subsystem specifications and requirements.
- Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project timelines to ensure successful project execution and on-time delivery.
- Participate in conversations and interface with external partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in mechanical engineering, with a strong focus on modeling, analysis, design, and prototyping.
- Expertise in structural analysis, thermal management, materials selection, and mechanical system design for mobility and/or aerospace applications.
- Strong understanding of aerodynamics principles and their application to aerospace systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for 3D modeling and design.
- Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) for structural and aerodynamic analyses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proactive self-starter, capable of multitasking and moving at a quick pace in a startup environment.

This is an in-person role. We are not offering visa sponsorship at this time.
Expected compensation: $109,000 - $170,000 per year + Equity + Benefits. The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base salary range in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
