What you'll be doing
As a Welder, you'll be responsible for manufacturing fabricated assemblies using a variety of welding techniques, ensuring every component meets Lotus' exacting quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
Welding fabricated assemblies using MIG/MAG, Spot and TIG welding processes.
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions and manufacturing processes.
Setting up welding equipment and selecting the appropriate programmes.
Inspecting and testing completed assemblies before they move to the next production stage.
Using a range of workshop equipment including grinders, drills, power saws and other fabrication tools.
Completing production documentation and batch records.
Identifying maintenance concerns and carrying out first-line problem solving where appropriate.
Working safely and maintaining a clean, organised work area in line with Health & Safety requirements.
Meeting quality, safety and production targets while supporting continuous improvement.
What we're looking for
You'll be a motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a collaborative manufacturing team and takes pride in producing work to a consistently high standard.
You'll ideally have:
A qualification in welding and fabrication.
Experience in general fabrication and welding.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication processes.
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
A flexible approach and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
It would be great if you also have:
Experience working within the automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding or similar engineering industries.
TIG welding experience.
Experience working with light to medium gauge materials.
Knowledge of Kanban or lean manufacturing principles.
Experience interpreting complex engineering drawings.

This role will be working from our Norwich plant.
