SENIOR CNC MACHINIST - CAMARILLO, CA

Main responsibilities include setting up and operating equipment based on shop priorities including: CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, and Tool Room (conventional) machining equipment. Fast paced R&D, prototype aviation shop. The incumbent will be responsible for inspection of final work.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate equipment including 5-axis CNC machines, mills, lathes, routers, etc. 
  • Program machines by studying blueprints, schematics, drawings, specifications, reference planes, and more
  • Ensure proper inventory management protocols are followed while on the machine shop floor
  • Inspect parts to print throughout production and abide by strict GD&T
  • Perform first article inspections according to specifications and make changes as necessary
  • Maintain safety standards by adhering to Skyryse quality standards
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements and upkeep

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent 
  • 4 years of machining experience 
  • Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Pro Engineer, SolidWorks and/or related CAD software
  • Practical knowledge of engineering materials, tools, and machining processes
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 35 lbs. without assistance and up to 250 lbs. with mechanical assistance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years of machining experience
  • Expert knowledge of aerospace and aviation standards 
  • Working knowledge of machine shop management (including: machine time scheduling, work assignments, shop materials, consumables scheduling, etc.)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Pro Engineer, SolidWorks and/or related CAD software
  • Expert knowledge of ASME Y14.5
