Autonomous Vehicle Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test suites, and test programs to evaluate various features and capabilities of the software stack
• Triage issues and assign them to the appropriate team
• Follow up on and close software issues/tickets after conducting appropriate validation
• Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure understanding and resolution of bugs
• Set up test infrastructure -- software and hardware
• Strategize with the testing team to develop cohesive verification and validation plans, including test plans
• Integrate and/or deploy software updates at a system and subsystem (component) level
• Drive a culture of safety first across all aspects of the role

Qualifications

• B.S. in Automotive Engineering, Robotics, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of test engineering experience in the automobile, robotics, or aerospace industry
• Strong C++ and Python coding ability and general software fundamentals
• Experience with Linux Systems
• Working knowledge of automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet)
• Solve fast-paced hands-on complex problems
• Interest in travel to support integration and testing of software at various testing locations (up to 20% travel possible)

Bonus Points

• M.S. in robotics, computer science, autonomous systems, or a related field
• Experience with ROS or other common robotics tools and libraries
• Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging
• Experience writing and maintaining documentation (Google Suite, Confluence, JIRA)
• Troubleshooting experience with real-world systems
• Have and maintain a US Driver's License with a clean driving record
