Aperia is looking for a highly motivated, problem-solving, and goal-driven professional to join our growing Finance team in Burlingame. The Accounting Analyst will be an integral member of our team and collaborate with others such as Sales & Operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts Payable Accounting:
  • Manage the accounts payable inbox and vendor communications in conjunction with the supply chain manager and other internal users
  • Prepare and enter invoices to correctly allocate costs to projects/departments
  • Schedule payments to ensure business continuity
  • Prepare weekly AP aging and cash flow forecast
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and correctly posted
  • Maintain vendor records in the ERP system
  • Prepare credit applications for new vendors
  • Ensure collection of all W9s, banking information for payments, and any tax certificate information, if applicable
  • Track 1099 payments and prepare annual filings via preparation software.
  • Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and correctly posted
  • Accounting and Audit:
  • Assist with the core accounting functions, including month-end close, reconciliations, inventory, expenses, revenue/COGs, and OPEXpex/accruals)
  • Assist with daily cash tracking and cash flow forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, various regulations, and corporate policies.
  • Identify and address any control or efficiency gaps and develop/implement best practices
  • Build thoughtful analyses and assist with any ad hoc internal reporting
  • Participate in and support key business initiatives and ad-hoc projects as needed.
  • Assist with annual audit

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline required, CPA or CMA a plus
  • 2 to 3+ years of accounting experience - in a manufacturing environment is a plus
  • Quantitative & analytical abilities, as shown through your work experience and academic accomplishments
  • Public accounting and/or industry experience a plus
  • Experience working in a fully-integrated MRP/ERP/GL system
  • Experience implementing, documenting, and streamlining processes/policies
  • Ability to think creatively about the optimal design of financial processes and implement change
  • Proficient in MS Office, NetSuite, Avalara, ADP Payroll, Tax 1099 or equivalent applications
  • Thrive in a challenging and high-performance, entrepreneurial environment
  • Comfortable and effective working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Professional and clear communication skills (by phone and in-person)
  • Willingness and flexibility to vary hours and efforts according to deadlines
