SYSTEMS ENGINEER, FLIGHT CONTROL - LOS ANGELES, CA

All Skyryse systems, components, software and technology must be developed with the most meticulously documented processes to ensure they are certifiable by regulatory agencies. In this role, you will lead the development of certifiable flight automation technologies and cost-efficient processes for the new Urban Commercial Aviation industry. You will work with the FAA directly to certify our most advanced flight control system. You will become a subject matter in certification processes and coach the technical teams to better understand certification processes. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design and development of flight controls systems
  • Design and develop fail-safe and fail-operational architecture for flight control systems
  • Support lab integration and testing including Hardware in Loop (HIL) Ground Tests and Aircraft Integration Tests
  • Work with the certification team to support compliance and certification as required
  • Advocate and train the Skyryse teams to follow and contribute to process improvements
  • Develop, write, and manage, requirements for Flight Control Systems

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience
  • Experience using Product Lifecycle Management tools

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters or PhD degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering discipline
  • Experience with Flight Controls in Rotorcraft
  • Previous experience in Fly By Wire Flight Controls systems development
  • Knowledge of ARP4754, ARP4761, and related standards for Validation & Verification as well as Safety
  • Experience in working with development of control architecture or software architecture
