Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team is steadily working toward our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the traffic congestion below, giving you back the time that otherwise would have spent sitting in traffic. Since 2009, our team has been making this dream a reality, designing and flight testing a prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration and preparing for commercialization with launch targeted in select markets for 2024. 

Overview

Joby is growing rapidly and we’re looking for an experienced, hands-on People Reporting & Systems Senior Manager to join our expanding People team. You will work closely with other members of the People team as the subject matter expert for our human resources information systems. Your expertise will enable Joby to maintain a high level of employee data integrity which is vital as we continue to grow our base of exceptional employees. This position is open to remote, San Francisco Bay Area preferred.

The People Reporting & Systems Senior Manager’s responsibilities will include selecting and implementing an HRIS, managing and validating our databases, being the superuser of our human resources systems, and educating the People team on our human resources technology. To be successful in this role, you should have experience with HRIS selection and implementation, database administration, and exposure to core human resources software, such as payroll processing and applicant tracking systems. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the proper and effective operation of our HR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead our HRIS implementation
  • Oversee all system changes, upgrades, and requirements gathering for requests for proposal (RFPs)
  • Maintain data integrity in systems by regularly analyzing data and owning mass imports of People data
  • Manage the back-end integrations of various HR systems, such as benefit carrier connections
  • Support a data-focused People function through regular and ad hoc People data reporting (e.g., recruiting funnel, attrition, headcount trends, etc.)
  • Manage access permissions for all People systems
  • Train system users on functionalities and new features
  • Troubleshoot and manage technical issues
  • Proactively identify and implement system enhancements, partnering with stakeholders from across the organization (e.g., IT, accounting, finance, recruiting, learning & development, etc.)
  • Ensure all People systems are compliant with data protection laws

Required

  • 10 years of work experience with HR systems
  • 4 years work experience in an HRIS or People Data specific role
  • BS/BA degree
  • Experience in HRIS selection and implementation
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Incredible attention to detail and ability to proofread your own work
  • Intermediate Excel skills (e.g. sumifs, nested if statements, index/match, xlookup,...)
  • Fundamental knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Ability to think systematically. You understand the interdependencies and downstream impacts of your work.

Desired

  • Business Intelligence tool experience (Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Diploma in Human Resources
  • BS in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Data Analytics
