Community & Social Manager

Los Angeles, CA, USA

Trucks VC portfolio

May 9

Taur is looking for its leader of community-building initiatives. This role will have many facets and will require charisma and hard work, but it will come with a ton of autonomy. It’s for someone with a track record of building, engaging with and learning from communities… a savvy communicator and social media native who’s proud to advocate for a great product… and someone who’s comfortable starting from the ground up and building a team as we scale.

You will act as the public face of the brand for all day-to-day communications, working closely with our Head of Marketing and Creative Director on everything from strategy, tactics and TOV to campaigns, livestreaming and events.

Based in the Los Angeles area for our product launch this Summer, this role will quickly go national and beyond.

  • Engage with, delight and add value to our community at all stages.
  • Cultivate long term relationships. Who’s in our community? How do they/would they use the product? Can we improve their experience? What cool stuff are they working on– can we collaborate?
  • Develop community initiatives such as virtual events/spaces, group rides, reward programs, local activism, etc.
  • Fully manage our social media, newsletters and blog – be the public voice of the brand for all day-to-day comms and conversations.
  • Aim to make every interaction personal, memorable and worth talking about.
  • Ensure all public comms are well written and visually on-brand.
  • Advocate on behalf of our community internally.
  • Build a team that scales community initiatives as we grow.

  • You’ve built a community that loves – and advocates for – a brand.
  • Track record of writing clearly and effectively.
  • You know how to leverage digital comms. You experiment with the latest trends, new platforms, and you’re not afraid to put yourself out there.
  • You ideally know the tools as well – social listening and scheduling (e.g. Buffer), building newsletters (e.g. Mailchimp), image editing (e.g. Figma, Sketch, or Photoshop) + Google Suite. Bonus points if you know website management, Shopify, HTML or Google Analytics.
  • Bonus: you’ve owned an e-scooter before and understand the incredible benefits this form of transport has on your life.

We’re on a mission to make e-scooters a truly viable form of urban transport, combining safe, stylish, award-winning products with great user experience. From our R&D base in London, we’ve gathered an exceptional team from companies such as Tesla, McLaren and Uniwheel. After a highly successful pre-launch campaign in 2020 we’re launching in LA in Summer 2022, where this role is initially based.
