River is a fast growing company with an R&D team of 60 engineers now. The company targets to be 250-300 employees by the end of 2022

Role : Gear Manufacturing Development Engineer

• Role
• Responsible for the build to print parts – Gears, Gears assembly, Forgings, blanking
• Evaluating supplier manufacturing capabilities and feeding the inputs back in the design
• Responsible for review of DFM, DFA, and DFT aspects
• Participate in supplier qualification in terms of manufacturing process capabilities
• stabilizing the primary processes like forging, blanking, and heat treatment for gears.
• stabilizing the suitable manufacturing process for the required DIN class.
• Create a process map & PFMEA
• Responsible to develop prototyping within program timelines
• Responsible for the refinement of parts from First tool parts to PPAP sign off
• Get agreements on the CTQs
• Develop acceptance criteria & a plan for handling rejection
• Ensure quality parts for various stages of builds
• Change management communication & co-ordination with the suppliers
• Conduct PPAP & develop a plan for all open issues before hand over to Quality

Here’s what we are looking for:

• Exposure to different gear manufacturing processes (Knowledge of Shaving, Shaping, hobbing, grinding processes)
• Exposure to the different DIN standards and gear quality standards.
• Exposure to Tool selection like hob, shaving tool, Grinding wheel profile and grade, etc
• Exposure to forging, Heat treatment, and machining of gears.
• GD&T knowledge and gear tolerances
• Knowledge of gear inspection methods and planning actions against non-conformities.
• Exposure to PFMEA, APQP approach to product development
• Project Planning & Coordination with CFT for execution till the Launch of the product.
