Onsite employees come into HQ or one of our sites at least 4 times a week and have a dedicated workstation with a monitor, keyboard, etc. This role is an onsite role, based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Job Summary

May Mobility is looking for a proficient Production Planner to oversee and facilitate the supply chain and production operations of our growing company. You will coordinate material deliveries, production sequencing and timing, engineering change cut in dates, and delivery dates of vehicles using a master schedule you will develop. This role will report to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain & Procurement and will have the opportunity to work cross functionally with stakeholders from Production, Operations, Program Management, and Engineering.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Track maximum and minimum inventory levels for production Inventory Items
  • Develop daily or weekly production schedules at contract manufacturers to ensure that production deadlines are met.
  • Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules
  • Coordinate with May sales team to promote accurate and timely shipments of orders to customers
  • Provide assistance for maintaining logistics planning tasks
  • Administer and maintain inventory control program systems
  • Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of entire fleet, routing and scheduling planning
  • Coordinate and monitor the movement of vehicles to and from May and its Contract Manufacturing Partners, both domestic and international
  • Ensure the company’s part fulfillment operations stay on schedule
  • Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures
  • Work closely with with Sales & Operations planning stakeholders to align schedules and communicate risks
  • Provide input and ideas to optimize the company’s logistics processes.
  • Communicate with suppliers, customers etc. to achieve profitability goals
  • Plan and track the shipment of final products according to customer requirements
  • Prepare accurate reports for management

Qualifications and Skills:

Required

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a project manager, production planner or scheduler
  • Experience with new product launches
  • Experience with Gantt charts or project planning software such as MS Project, Asana, etc
  • Exposure to Lean / Just-in-Time principles
  • Understanding of project management best practices
  • Understanding of production sequencing
  • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related software
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple workflows across different departments
  • Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
  • Outstanding organizational, presentation, and coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • BS/BA in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management or relevant field

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Less than Truckload (LTL)
  • Experience or Knowledge with International Shipping of Goods and Vehicles
  • Knowledge of shipping laws, regulations and ISO requirements
  • PMP certification
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification
