About This Role

We are seeking a Lead Electrical / Electronics Engineer for our hardware development team to develop and document our hardware for our Autonomous Vehicle (AV) fleet. The ideal candidate will have experience leading an electrical and electronics design team in a relevant industry such as rail, mobile equipment, automotive, robotics, or aerospace.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to…

  • Define standards of excellence for E/E Engineering Design
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the E/E engineering discipline within Gatik
  • Establish internal standards, training, and processes
  • Apply experience in electrical and electronics design to produce excellent design solutions.
  • Assist in creating the system architecture
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to select components, suppliers, and technologies

We’re looking for someone who has…

  • 5+ years of electrical and electronics engineering design experience
  • 2+ years of experience leading an E/E engineering design team
  • Experience in prototype design and designing for production volumes (hundreds to millions of units)
  • Experience in electrical architecture design
  • Experience with PCB design.
  • Familiarity with test and validation
  • Knowledge of documentation and quality practices
  • Hands-on experience in building and troubleshooting E/E systems
  • Experience in designing for functionally safe electronic systems to IEC61508 / ISO EN 13849 or similar
  • Experience with using CAN bus and Ethernet in designs

Its preferred if you have…

  • Test and validation experience
  • Experience in RF and Antenna Integration
  • Familiarity with automotive electronics
  • Knowledge of automotive wiring standards and practices (IPC 620 certification)
  • Experience with optical and radar sensors.
  • Demonstrated practical experience with agile development practices
