We are looking for an experienced, highly-motivated electrical engineer to lead the electrical design of the company’s next-generation lidar systems. The candidate will be responsible for defining the electrical architecture of the systems, will be responsible for the design, manufacture and validation of PCBs and interconnects, including power supplies and fast signal routing.

The successful candidate will have a degree in electrical engineering and have at least 10 years of industry work experience, with a strong preference for experience in optical interconnects, RF electronics, radar or lidar. A strong background in signal integrity and fast switching electronics is required. The responsibilities of the job include hands-on work, external vendor management and presentations to the company’s technical team. A demonstrated ability to bring challenging products to production and managing small teams is necessary.

Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define electrical architectures of lidar systems.
  • Select key components and vendors for high-speed PCBs.
  • Design PCBs for driving fast-switching signals, ensuring signal integrity and EMI performance,
  • build, and characterize the boards

Essential Skills & Experience Requirements (required):

  • Experience defining system electrical architectures.
  • Experience with hands-on high-speed board design.
  • Experience working with pulsed lasers.
  • Deep understanding of signal integrity, impedance matching and techniques for reducing
  • inductances.
  • Experience bringing electrical systems to mass production.
  • Experience managing small teams of engineers.

Preferred Skills & Experience (useful):

  • LiDAR or radar experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in the automotive space highly desirable.
  • Independent, self-starter, while working in a team setting.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and demanding start-up environment.
