Joby Overview

Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team has been steadily working toward our goal of providing safe, affordable, fully electric air transportation that is accessible to everyone. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the congestion below, giving you back that time you’d otherwise spend sitting in traffic. Technology has advanced to the point where designing and operating an all-electric aircraft is completely viable. Our team has been discreetly designing and flight testing this vehicle and is looking for talented individuals to see it through certification and high rate production.

This position will be in our Santa Cruz, CA facility. This role will operate in a fast paced, demanding, and rewarding environment with very high expectations for individual contribution. The primary responsibilities for this role will include scheduling, planning, and resource allocation for Testing team projects. • Actively manage open projects by tracking progress, project gates, test component status, driving technical decision-making processes to avoid bottlenecks, and seeking to resolve any other potential issues ahead of them limiting the project. The Project Manager will have to exhibit sound judgment, critical thinking skills, and an ability to guide the teams to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Collaborate with other project managers to ensure convergence of company-level efforts to achieve key milestones.
  • Ensure that executed projects meet internal and external performance and documentation requirements and standards.
  • Develop tools to facilitate the various reporting or planning functions described above.
  • Leverage team performance metrics to help create growth, organizational, and budgeting strategies for the team, as well as provide feedback that will allow the team to achieve higher operating efficiency.

  • Bachelor’s in engineering or relevant fields
  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering environment with responsibility for implementing or managing change
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Pursuant to various local, state, and federal regulations, you must show proof of your full COVID-19 vaccination status prior to your start date. Exemption requests are available for bona fide religious and medical circumstances.
