Located in Northern California, the Joby Aviation team is steadily working toward our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Imagine an air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly and quickly carries you over the traffic congestion below, giving you back the time that otherwise would have spent sitting in traffic. Since 2009, our team has been making this dream a reality, designing and flight testing a prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented individuals to join our team as we push onwards towards certifying the aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, high-rate production, and preparing for commercialization with launch targeted in select markets for 2024.


As an Executive Assistant in Joby’s fast-paced environment, you will be primarily responsible for providing administrative and project management support to our Head of Program Management & Systems Engineering as well as their respective teams. In addition, on a short-term basis, you will provide scheduling and travel support for the Head of Product. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, a strong communicator, and highly organized. The key to your success is the ability to adapt to ever-changing conditions.


  • Coordinate the daily calendar of Head of Program Management & Systems Engineering (long term) and Head of Product (short term)
  • Plan appointments and events with internal and external participants; resolve conflicts as they arise
  • Plan, manage & track action items for each team member
  • Communicate day-to-day project requirements and priorities
  • Facilitate internal communication and lead ad hoc assignments, commensurate with a operations of a nimble environment
  • Book travel for the executive team and, on occasion, important guests
  • Lead timely and accurate completion of expense reports
  • Host visitors and support onboarding of new team members
  • Assist with meeting and event planning
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Minimum 8+ years of administrative experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience supporting a VP-level leader in any sized business or a Director-level leader in a global business
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize leaders' calendar with ability to make judgement calls and decisions based on rapidly shifting priorities
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, often changing environment with efficiency and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership over sometimes ambiguous tasks and situations with little oversight
  • Strong organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience coordinating projects
  • Ability to work with confidential information
