We’re seeking an outstanding sales and business development leader to grow AEye’s aerospace and defense business. This role will be focused on government segments which involves establishing partnerships with leading aerospace and defense system integrators, manufacturers, and contractors. The candidate is expected to develop and maintain excellent industry relationships across the government community: DoD, DHS, Aerospace.

The Director of Business Development, Aerospace & Defense, will report directly to the VP of Sales for Industrial.

 Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, grow, and maintain AEye’s aerospace and defense relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with the sales leadership and key internal stakeholders to establish and execute on sales and business development strategies
  • Provide insight to align AEye’s goals with the market interests and government funding
  • Identify programs and opportunities with government agencies and manage the bidding process
  • Meet or exceed the company's revenues and bookings goals.

 Essential Skills & Experience Requirements (required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field is required (an MBA is highly desired)
  • Minimum of 10 years in business development in Government, Aerospace, or DoD business. Prior military experience is desired
  • Tech startup experience is a plus
  • A track record of introducing tech innovations to government stakeholders is highly desired.
  • Ability to travel domestically. Some international travel may apply.
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills.
