Your Role

This is an opportunity for an early career Electrical Engineer to grow and develop skills as well as play a crucial role in the design of next-generation tire inflation products and the continued scale-up of the Halotm Connect and related products. You will be a member of an agile team of product design engineers, Operations, Quality, Suppliers, and other business stakeholders. You will work to refine and test electrical subsystems, new PCBA designs, control algorithms, and take products from concept to high volume manufacturing release in the automotive space.

Your Responsibilities

  • Refine PCBA schematics and layout using simulation tools to verify the design against requirements and address signal and power integrity and reliability goals.
  • Bring up prototype PCBA’s and whole inflation systems, troubleshooting issues, and iterating designs.
  • Work with systems, mechanical and firmware engineers to refine control algorithms and strategies.
  • Work with cross-functional team to define and implement reliability tests.
  • Work with vendors to define PCBA production tests and drive production test strategy.
  • Build and release ECO’s in Arena PLM, following Aperia best practices & policies.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering, Master’s preferred.
  • 2 years experience in product development, ideally in automotive or other high-volume, high-reliability industries.
  • Skill with PCBA design tools, Altium preferred, and design simulation tools and lab test equipment.
  • Experience/interest in mechatronics and control problems of mechanical dynamic systems.
  • Firmware background is a plus (C/C++).
  • The ability to script and automate tests and electronic test equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to solder and repair fine pitch electronic components is highly desirable.
  • Experience/interest in highly cost-optimized, high-reliability designs.
  • Experience and knowledge in any of battery management, generators, radiofrequency (rf) communications, Bluetooth, antenna design, mesh networking are all desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, curious, and driven to learn and improve.
  • Strong problem analysis and solving skills.

Required Skills
