Overview

The Business Development Manager is responsible for the generation, management and oversight of business development and sales activities for Avionyx, a Joby Aviation company. This position will require ongoing customer and stakeholders’ interactions to identify and create opportunities and strengthen business relationships with our portfolio of customers and develop relationships with new clients as they emerge. Participation in industry trade shows and regular travel is required. 

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing and understanding customer expressed and unstated requirements 
  • Leading the development of commercial and technical proposals 
  • Ensuring Avionyx has the ability to meet customer requirements 
  • Negotiating the terms of service agreements 
  • Identifying project risks 
  • Interacting with the Engineering team in the preparation of technical and economic proposals 
  • Responding to customer feedback and complaints 
  • Monitoring project performance and customer satisfaction

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • 5 years of business development experience in an aerospace environment
  • Knowledge of software engineering and embedded systems
  • Deep understanding of DO-178C activities and objectives
  • Knowledge of avionics systems
  • Ability to manage budgets and schedules
  • Ability to travel internationally to and from the United States

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $159,600-212,800/year. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
